My Kidney Story
On behalf of my children and myself, I want to thank you for coming to my find a kidney donor page. It means a lot to us, particularly because I am at a stage of the disease where I am most vulnerable to death if I don’t receive a transplant. What I mean is that I am now on dialysis.
One only begins dialysis when the kidneys no longer function adequately enough to sustain one’s life. My kidney function is now LESS than 15% – that’s from BOTH kidneys total.
I am a single father of two children, a 10-year-old son and a 14-year old daughter. My kids are at an age where they need a dad and as their dad, let me be clear that I love and need them too. They are without a doubt the best thing that has ever happened to me. I cannot imagine leaving them in this world alone.
April Fool’s Joke?….NOT!
I’m 50 years old and have been fighting the cause of this disease since I was BORN. It’s an autoimmune disease called IGA NEPHROPATHY which led to ESRD (End-Stage Renal Disease. I was diagnosed with ESRD 2 years ago on APRIL 1ST, 2015 (APRIL FOOL’S DAY) plus my ultrasound test back then showed “CIRRHOSIS of my liver”
ESRD has certainly taken it’s toll on me physically, psychologically, and emotionally. I work as a PHYSICAL THERAPIST helping others regain their health and mobility so that they can get on with their lives. It is a very rewarding line of work when I see people’s physical condition change with my help. It not only inspires me, but it reminds me of the great and positive things that come from the assistance of another person which is why I have come to you for help.
Share A Spare (Kidney), Save A LIFE
I need to find my DONOR. The one person who will step up and give me the gift of life is who I am searching for. I am not afraid to fight and I can promise you that I will cherish your gift and will do everything in my power to keep it for life. Your donation gives me a chance for survival. It gives me an opportunity to live and raise my children, continue helping others and care for my community. I can’t do this for myself. I can’t fix this alone.
I need help. And I NEED YOUR HELP! I am asking you to help me live by becoming my donor. Will you help me? Please.
To be a donor is a special thing. There are many thousands of living donors who have chosen to share the gift of life with another individual. The donation procedure is medically safe. It has been performed for decades and thousands of times.
You Need Only 1 Kidney for Life
Medical and scientific evidence abounds proving that human beings can live their lifespan with one healthy kidney which is why many thousands of living donors have made the choice to save a live one donation at a time. Will you join them and save mine?
Please leave a message for me here on my blog where I can reach you and we can talk further about this matter. ANY BLOOD TYPE is acceptable. THANKS TO THE PAIRED KIDNEY EXCHANGE PROGRAM at my transplant center. I am listed at University Transplant Center in San Antonio Texas.
